Who this applies to

This privacy policy describes how Zack Rodger ("I," "me") collects and uses information when you visit zrodger.com (the "Site"). This is a personal portfolio and freelance services website. It does not sell products, manage user accounts, or process payments.

By using the Site you agree to the practices described here. If you have questions, reach out at me@zrodger.com.

What is gathered and why

I collect only what's necessary to run and improve the Site:

• Contact form submissions — name, email address, and message content you voluntarily provide. Used solely to respond to your inquiry.
• Analytics data — page views, session duration, device type, browser, and approximate geographic region. Collected automatically via Google Analytics (see Section 4). Used to understand how the Site is used and improve it over time.
• Theme preference — a single value (light/dark) stored in your browser's localStorage. Never transmitted to any server.

I do not collect passwords, payment information, government IDs, or any other sensitive personal data.

Cookies and local storage

The Site uses cookies only for analytics purposes through Google Analytics. No advertising, tracking, or third-party marketing cookies are used.

• _ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics cookies that distinguish unique visitors and sessions. They expire after 2 years and 13 months respectively.

You can decline cookies via the banner shown on your first visit. You can also disable or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings, or use a browser extension like uBlock Origin to block analytics scripts. Declining cookies will not affect any core functionality of the Site.

Services with their own privacy terms

The Site uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Google Analytics 4 — visitor analytics. Data is processed by Google LLC. You can opt out globally at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
• Google Fonts — typeface delivery. When your browser loads this page, a request is made to Google's servers. Google may log your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.
• Font Awesome — icon delivery via their CDN. A request is made to Font Awesome's servers when the page loads. See Font Awesome's privacy policy.
• Cloudinary — image hosting and delivery for portfolio case studies. See Cloudinary's privacy policy.

How form submissions are handled

When you submit the contact form, your name, email, and message are used only to respond to your inquiry. This information is not added to marketing lists, sold, or shared with third parties. I retain messages only as long as needed to handle your request.

Control over your data

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of any personal data I hold about you.
• Ask me to correct or delete personal data you've submitted.
• Opt out of analytics tracking by declining cookies or using the Google Analytics opt-out tool.

How data is protected

The Site is served over HTTPS. I take reasonable precautions to protect any information submitted through the contact form. However, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

Not directed at children

This Site is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted data through this Site, contact me and I will delete it.

Updates to this policy

This policy may be updated occasionally. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
